Auburn University
AL · AI Readiness #171 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 5.7 /10
Auburn's COMP 1100 opens AI fundamentals to students in every major, and the Biggio Center's Teaching with AI course has become the Southeastern Conference's standard faculty training program.
Auburn's undergraduate Certificate in AI Engineering, launched Fall 2024, gives Computer Science and Engineering students a formal AI credential, and the Easley HPC Cluster gives them Tesla T4 GPU access through coursework and faculty sponsorship. In the College of Education, Elementary Education students are learning to use AI as a planning and instructional tool as part of their coursework. Auburn's AI leadership so far sits at the initiative level rather than in a university-wide executive role, and the university hasn't yet built a standalone undergraduate AI degree open to every major.
