Boston College
MA · AI Readiness #156 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 6.0 /10
Boston College's new Krantz Institute for AI, Ethics, and Humanity draws on all nine of its schools, and has campus-wide access to Google Gemini and NotebookLM.
Undergraduates can build practical AI skills through Start@AI, a weekly workshop series at the Carroll School's Shea Center open to every major, and researchers can tap H200 GPUs added to the university's high-performance computing cluster last year. BC Law recently appointed Maureen Van Neste as its first Faculty Director for AI Initiatives, another school-level AI leadership post alongside CDIL's Digital Learning Innovation and AI director. Boston College hasn't yet built an undergraduate AI major, certificate, or secured a federal grant for an AI initiative, which crosstown peer Boston University already has: a $20 million NSF grant to build a national network of AI-infused cloud research labs.
