California State University Fresno
CA · AI Readiness #89 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.5 /10
Fresno State developed an AI microcredential now adopted across all 23 CSU campuses, and beginning Fall 2026 undergraduates in any major can add an AI Minor, giving students a portable credential built by the school that taught the system.
Bulldogs also get free access to ChatGPT Edu, Microsoft Copilot, and the campus-built Bulldog Genie concierge platform, plus weekly peer-led workshops through the AT&T-funded DISCOVERe AI Literacy Program. Business students can pursue the AI in Business Certificate of Special Study through the Craig School. The F3i Supercomputing Center, hosted on campus in partnership with the San Diego Supercomputer Center, gives students hands-on access to AI compute power most regional universities don't have. One thing still missing is a standalone AI major; the current path runs through a minor open to any student.
