Colorado State University-Fort Collins
CO · AI Readiness #89 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.5 /10
Colorado State built its own AI platform from scratch, CSU-GPT, and made it available to every student on campus, giving Rams hands-on access to a university-designed tool rather than an off-the-shelf product.
Rams can pair that platform access with a Machine Learning minor open to students across all majors, a cross-listed ethics course in Computer Science and Philosophy (CS/PHIL 201 Ethical Computing Systems), and a TILT Generative AI Workshop Series running 15 sessions in Spring 2026. Research-grade computing is also within reach through the Riviera cluster, built with 20 NVIDIA A100 GPUs, and the co-funded Alpine cluster, both open to undergraduates. What's still missing is a standalone AI major; the current offering runs as a concentration inside the computer science degree, something prospective students eyeing a dedicated AI credential should weigh.
