Drexel University
PA · AI Readiness #109 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.2 /10
Drexel launched a standalone BS in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in fall 2026, one of the first dedicated undergraduate AI degrees in Pennsylvania, with built-in co-op options that give students up to 18 months of real-world work experience.
Dragons who want more than a major can add the Minor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, open to students across all colleges. Every student now has access to Drexel ChatGPT Edu, a university-licensed platform with data-privacy protections, and the Picotte HPC cluster with Nvidia GPUs is available free of charge for coursework and research. The College of Computing and Informatics houses CS 589: Responsible Machine Learning, and a statewide Keystone AI and Quantum Factory partnership connects Drexel with Carnegie Mellon, Penn State, and the University of Pennsylvania. AI still hasn't reached many departments outside engineering and computing; business, law, and public health touch AI mainly at the graduate level for now.
