Florida State has active AI governance committees, a funded ReliaQuest cybersecurity partnership, and federal AI-research grants, but still has work to do in curriculum development and infrastructure to keep up with its Florida peers.
FSU has policy committees covering AI in teaching and research, and a $1.5 million partnership with ReliaQuest that funds an annual innovation challenge and a non-credit training badge in AI and cybersecurity. Federal grants, including a DOE Genesis Mission award and an NSF CAREER award, keep several labs active in AI. The Seminoles don't yet have an AI major or minor, or a standalone AI ethics course, which is what many schools of its research profile and enrollment would typically have.

- AI@FSU initiative (ai.fsu.edu) published by the Office of the Provost includes stated goals, governance commitments, ethical guidelines, and named programs — meeting the 2-of-4 threshold for full credit.
- Spatial Data Science Center (Director: A. Stewart Fotheringham, multi-department) and Nursing AI Innovation Consortium (Director: Lisa Hightow-Weidman, multi-college) both qualify as named cross-disciplinary AI-adjacent hubs with active funded projects.
