Fordham University
NY · AI Readiness #174 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 5.6 /10
Fordham undergraduates in the Digital Technologies and Emerging Media major study artificial intelligence's cultural and ethical impact directly in coursework, and every student has free campus-wide access to Google Gemini and Grammarly AI through the university's IT department.
Fordham named its first Assistant Vice President of Enterprise AI in February 2026, and the university's AI policy now spans academic integrity, research, and teaching guidelines shaped by Jesuit values. Research-focused undergrads can tap the Magis high-performance computing cluster, and Fordham holds an NSA-recognized Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber AI. A standalone undergraduate AI major or minor has not yet launched, leaving Fordham behind fellow New York City institution Columbia, which already offers a dedicated undergraduate AI minor.
