Gonzaga University
WA · AI Readiness #121 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 6.9 /10
Gonzaga opened the Human-AI Collaboratory in fall 2025 and embedded AI literacy outcomes directly into the undergraduate core curriculum, so every Zag, regardless of major, now encounters structured AI learning as part of their degree.
Gonzaga students can pursue a formal AI minor open to all majors and work alongside researchers at the Institute for Informatics and Applied Technology (IIAT) on live projects like ZagAI, a Socratic AI learning tool developed and piloted in English courses. This August, Gonzaga's Florence campus hosted a global gathering of Jesuit formation leaders on AI, with participation from Anthropic and IIAT engineers. Deepening that direction, Gonzaga could build a named cross-campus AI governance body with a formally appointed chair, following the model IIAT itself already provides.
