Harvey Mudd College
CA · AI Readiness #109 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.2 /10
Harvey Mudd built deep AI research labs, campus-wide AI tools, and hands-on industry Clinic partnerships, though it still hasn't developed AI into a major, minor, or other certificate program.
AMISTAD and HEATlab are named, self-described AI research labs, giving undergrads real hands-on access to AI research most students won't find at a school this size. The Clinic Program puts students directly on industry AI projects with ServiceNow, Microsoft, and UCS. Campus-wide access to Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and Microsoft Copilot means every student has AI tools on day one, not just CS majors. A new Segal Endowed Professorship in AI arrives Fall 2026 to build out curricula. HMC has set the table. The resources and reputation are there for undergrads to build on.
