AIREDEX™ Score: 5.3 /10
LMU undergrads use a custom AI Study Companion built with Amazon Web Services that mirrors each professor's teaching style, reaching 125 students in its first semester as part of the university's broader approach to AI on campus.
A university-wide Task Force for Use of Generative AI, co-chaired by Vice Provost Jose Badenes and Faculty Senate Secretary Jordan Freitas, is drafting campus-wide GenAI guidelines with representatives from 26 offices and departments. LMU College of Communication and Fine Arts has woven AI into eight courses spanning Studio Arts and Communication Studies, and the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts is developing a proposed AI, Ethics, and Society minor. No standalone undergraduate AI major or minor exists yet, and no dedicated AI research center is open to undergraduates, as exists at USC through its Center for AI in Society.
