New Jersey Institute of Technology
NJ · AI Readiness #97 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.4 /10
New Jersey's first undergraduate degree blending business and AI launched at NJIT in spring 2026, funded by a $10 million investment that also created the Grace Hopper AI Research Institute and a free AI Literacy Microcredential for every student.
NJIT undergrads across all majors can earn an AI minor, stack a graduate certificate toward an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence, and access the Wulver supercomputing cluster, a Dell-built system with 100 NVIDIA A100 GPUs and 1.5-plus petaflops of peak capacity. The Grace Hopper AI Research Institute draws faculty from engineering, computer science, architecture, biology, and management, and funds undergraduate research fellowships including a biomedicine track. AI integration reaches the humanities through the HSS Senior Seminar on AI Ethics, a Theatre Arts motion-capture pilot, and first-year writing courses, giving Highlanders a broad on-ramp to AI study.
