Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
NY · AI Readiness #146 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 6.2 /10
RPI undergrads can pursue a Cognitive Science of AI minor, join the Lally AI Academy's product-building sprint open to all five schools, and train on the AiMOS supercomputer, one of the most powerful AI systems at any U.S. private university.
An AI literacy toolkit through the RPI Libraries and the HASS course AI and Society give undergrads outside computing additional ways to engage with AI. Federally, RPI is leading a Department of Energy Genesis Mission project applying AI to rare-earth-free magnet manufacturing, alongside a long-running IBM research partnership through the Future of Computing Institute. RPI has not yet deployed a campus-wide AI tool available to every student or appointed an administrative leader whose primary charge is undergraduate AI integration, both natural next steps as this research momentum builds.
