Santa Clara University
CA · AI Readiness #159 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 5.9 /10
Santa Clara University opened its undergraduate Minor in Responsible AI in Fall 2024 to students across every school on campus, pairing hands-on technical coursework with philosophy and ethics instruction drawn from more than ten departments.
Santa Clara undergraduates also gain access to Google Gemini and NotebookLM through a campus-wide license, and can tap the WAVE high-performance computing cluster for hands-on machine learning work. The nationally recognized Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, a member of the Partnership on AI since 2017, offers a standalone AI ethics course open to students across departments. The Career Center runs a structured Bay Area AI immersion program in its second consecutive year. Peers further along this path have added a dedicated university-wide AI executive and a standalone undergraduate AI degree, two milestones Santa Clara is well positioned to pursue next.
