AIREDEX™ Score: 5.5 /10
Texas Tech launched a B.S. in Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence in 2025 and announced a $25M NVIDIA supercomputing partnership in 2026. Extending that momentum into a formal governance structure and broader curriculum would mark the next step.
TTU Libraries runs two free, student-facing programs, AI Literacy at Lunchtime and an AI Competencies Certificate Series, though a campus-wide licensed AI tool is still missing. A $25 million NVIDIA partnership announced in February 2026 will bring next-generation supercomputing to campus, but the planned AI factory is still being sited and isn't yet operational. A separate $12.25 million NSF grant funds AI-driven data center research led by TTU faculty. As that infrastructure comes online, extending it into student-facing tools and a formal AI governance structure would mark real progress.
