AIREDEX™ Score: 4.2 /10
A 12-credit Certificate in Artificial Intelligence for Engineers launched at UAH in fall 2025, giving undergrads a credential in AI architectures and training methods, plus internship and co-op pathways through corporate partners Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks.
UAH undergrads also have access to RCHAU, the university's on-campus NVIDIA Ampere GPU cluster that serves as the statewide HPC hub for ten Alabama institutions. The Invention to Innovation Center has brought Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks onto campus as resident corporate partners, creating internship and co-op pathways for students embedded in Cummings Research Park, the second-largest tech park in the country. Federally funded AI research spans electrical engineering, systems engineering, earth science, and computer science, with faculty holding NSF and Army grants in federated learning and human-AI teaming.
