AIREDEX™ Score: 7.9 /10
UConn launched AI4ALL in fall 2025, a two-credit AI literacy course now open to all incoming Huskies across every college, with nearly 500 students enrolled in its first semester and a goal of reaching the entire incoming class by 2028.
UConn undergrads can also take AI-themed courses like DMD 2030 and ENGL 2616 as general education options, and the university is targeting a fall 2026 launch for an undergraduate AI minor, with a full AI major planned for fall 2027, following fellow public flagship University at Buffalo, which opened two AI minors to all undergrads in fall 2025. David Bergman, the Provost's Special Advisor on AI, now chairs a new AI Council drawing members from every school, UConn Health, and IT services, formed this June to guide those degree proposals.
