University of Dayton
OH · AI Readiness #86 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.6 /10
Starting in fall 2026, every University of Dayton first-year student completes two required AI units, including 'Human Dignity in the Era of AI,' and gains access to FlyerGPT, a university-built AI platform launched in February 2025.
University of Dayton undergrads can also pursue an AI Engineering co-major, a Minor in AI and Data Science, or a concentration in AI and Data Science within the Computer Science degree, with coursework extending into a second-year writing seminar on AI's impact on research and communication. The School of Business Administration's AI Fellows program has embedded AI into courses like OPS 301, MKT 310, and MGT 490, and a Responsible AI Case Competition run with IBM gives students hands-on experience with ethical AI decision-making. Ohio Supercomputer Center access is formally documented for classroom use, and the Engineering Co-op and Internship Office connects AI co-major students to Dayton's defense, aerospace, and manufacturing employers.
