University of Delaware
DE · AI Readiness #102 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.3 /10
Delaware undergraduates can now declare a standalone Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence Engineering, a degree that pairs machine learning, computer vision, and optimization with hands-on design projects from the first year, feeding directly into an accelerated 4+1 BS/MS pathway.
Beyond the AI degree itself, Hens have campus-wide access to Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and UD Study AiDE, a university-built tutoring tool trained on two decades of UD lecture content and integrated into Canvas. The Reimagining PedAIgogy workshop series and an AI Literacy Tutorial from Morris Library extend that access to every student, not just engineers. Even with these developments, peers like the University of Maryland have moved further, formalizing AI leadership and obtaining outside funding dedicated to AI.
