University of Nebraska-Lincoln
NE · AI Readiness #109 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 7.2 /10
UNL offers an undergraduate AI minor open to every major, as well as a systemwide AI Institute launched in February 2026 and GPU access through two campus computing hubs.
Husker AI Days brought Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and MathWorks to campus for two weeks of workshops, and a UNL-led Department of Energy Genesis Mission project is now applying AI to next-generation wireless networks. ChatGPT Enterprise is available to every student at no cost, and the graduate AI certificate gives students a path beyond the undergraduate minor. Nebraska has AI infrastructure in place, but schools in this category tend to have formalized AI leadership and some evidence of AI-dedicated grants, which the Huskers may be working on for the future.
