University of Toledo
OH · AI Readiness #220 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 3.8 /10
Every UToledo undergraduate starting in fall 2026 must complete ASCEND, an experience requirement under which AI internships and co-ops count toward the degree, and JobsOhio's AI Ready Ohio brings tiered AI certification workshops onto campus.
Rockets get their AI grounding from the library: a five-part video series covers responsible use in academic work, evaluating AI-generated output, privacy and copyright, and the limits of AI research tools. A university AI task force co-chaired by CIO William McCreary runs six subcommittees, one of them on legal and ethics questions, and publishes its policies through a provost portal open to students. A business bachelor of analytics and artificial intelligence won trustee approval in June 2026 and is set to launch in fall 2027, pending state approval.
