Vanderbilt University
TN · AI Readiness #5 of 227
AIREDEX™ Score: 9.4 /10
Vanderbilt undergraduates can minor in Generative AI, take standalone courses like AI Ethics and Philosophy of AI, join a twelve-lab AI research center as student Fellows, and access research-grade GPU clusters through ACCRE.
Vanderbilt built its own AI platform, Amplify, from scratch, and it now serves more than 17,000 students, faculty, and staff campus-wide while being licensed to dozens of other universities nationally. Undergraduates can also move from classroom to career through a dedicated capstone-to-hiring pipeline that has placed students directly with employers like Asurion, Nissan, and HCA. Backing all of this is one of the strongest generative AI leadership structures in higher education, anchored by a dedicated Chief AI and Technology Officer and a senior chancellor's advisor on generative AI. As Vanderbilt's new College of Connected Computing continues to grow, that infrastructure is positioned to deepen further.
